Embarking on a DIY project can sometimes lead you on unexpected adventures. Our latest endeavor was no exception. Opting for a temporary fix, we reversed a panel and added a new 2×4, securing it with screws. The Journey Begins With our fix in place, we embarked on our journey at 6:30 in the morning, anticipating a long day ahead. Our trip involved 52 stops, far more than the usual gas stops, to check our tie-downs and ensure everything was secure. It was a testament to the importance of preparedness and caution on the road, especially when hauling important cargo.
Crossing State Lines As we neared the state line between New Mexico and Arizona, we were reminded of the vast and changing landscapes of the American Southwest. The time changes back and forth added to the sense of adventure, and the cool 73-degree weather was a welcome reprieve from the heat we’d face later.
Wildlife Encounters Our property in Arizona greeted us with more than just stunning views; it presented us with the wild heart of the desert. Our first encounter with a baby rattlesnake was a stark reminder of the wildlife we share this land with. It was our first snake sighting on the property, signaling the care we needed to take, especially with our dog, Chico, in tow.

Faced with the decision to relocate or deal with it more permanently, we chose to relocate it, emphasizing the importance of coexisting with the natural inhabitants of the land.
