Taming the Land: Box Blade Adventures

Hey, everyone! Holy cow, it’s been a while since my last post, and I apologize for the delay. But hey, we’re back, and today, we’re diving into the world of box blades.

Now, let me tell you, running a tractor with a box blade isn’t as straightforward as it might seem. I’ve learned quite a bit through the process of leveling out spots on my buddy’s property, and I’m here to share my experiences.

First things first, there are three ways you can run a box blade: you can use just the rippers, just the box, or a combination of both. Let’s break down the pros and cons of each approach.

  1. Rippers Only:
    • Great for pulling up rocks.
    • Not ideal for leveling, and be cautious with large roots, as they might stop your tractor.
  2. Box Blade Only:
    • Effective at leveling the ground.
    • Tends to leave chunks of dirt if there are rocks, even small ones, causing a gap.
  3. Combination of Rippers and Box Blade:
    • Most effective in my experience.
    • Pulls up rocks with the rippers and levels with the box blade.
    • Requires occasional stops to address lifted box blade caused by larger rocks.

I found that the combination approach worked best for me. Yes, there were stops to deal with rocks, but overall, it required fewer passes than using each component separately.

In the videos, you’ll see the spots I worked on, dragging out rocks and leveling the terrain. Towards the end, there’s a bit of excitement with some curious onlookers checking out the action. I hope you enjoy the footage!

Thanks for sticking around, and I appreciate your patience. If you liked what you saw or if you’ve got some tractor wisdom to share, hit me up in the comments. Don’t forget to subscribe and stay tuned for more adventures on the channel. Until next time, happy leveling!
